We have 27 maps on the map list.
I added a few nice custom maps made by I_LIVE...AGAIN and Bloodite, like
High Noon, Death Camp and Burger Queen.

You already have them, so don't worry.
They are included in beta3.
You don't have to download anything.

You probably have a wrong version of TF.
What does it say when you try to connect?
Tell me what you see on the console.

when i click 'the way of al flesh' i get lines and line of hex/code - i think

Make sure you have the right version of TF.

Go here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=22136

and look under 1.1beta3 category. There are 2 files there - TF, and its patch.
You must download BOTH of them and unzip them to an empty directory.

Unzip the bigger file FIRST, then the patch!

If you do it it should work. Other people don't have problems with connecting.

Too much iceskating for my tastes... I had to predict by as much as 2 seconds where someone would be, which turns into guessing at that range when determining the motion of another player.

And is it possible to destroy someones Life Leech ? Cause I hit one with 6 napalm rounds consecutively and NOTHING. Dead on shots, in a corner.
