SOPA and the Trans-Pacific Partnership
So, apparently the SOPA thing never passed due to so many people being against it. I am not a person that is interested in politics or anything really government related (I honestly haven't read too much into this) but as far as I know, it was an attempt at control of the Internet by the government. Basically, because of copyrights you would no longer be able to write fan-fiction, create fan-art, or make fan-video tributes, etc. Thankfully, it was taken down by multiple petiton signatures.
However, SOPA still lives on in things like the Trans-Pacific Partnership and as a response, another petiton was created to fight against it. The reason I'm posting this is because this would most likely kill the Blood fanbase and fandom of any type of media as a whole. Since it has left the game industry, it has faded into obscurity and now still survives of the many Blood fan-artists, modders, fan-fic writers, and just Bloodites in general. Would this have an effect on Transfusion? Like I said, I know next to nil about politics but I do know that strangle-holding people's attempts at expression for their favorite things is NOT a good thing! Could you imagine living in a world where you'd get in trouble for drawing a picture of a game character? Or making a music video for your favorite movie? I sure as HELL don't.
The deadline is around April and if enough signatures are amassed, this offshoot law will die just as SOPA did.

Not sure I'd create an account to sign a petition. Been watching the TPP for a while now on and off and it really is scary. I'll reconsider starting an account because this gov. site is a little more prestigious than other petition sites.

I found an international petiton tackling the TPP. It seems to require 2 million signatures and it's nearly there. You are not required to register an account either (only email, country, and name.)
