Ioquake3 does not add any new graphical features stock Q3 doesn't have. The difference you're seeing is due to the budget of production teams. Nexuiz looked poor since its main artists haven't worked on it since 2004 and it's being survived by FSF-motivated hobbyist coders. Smokin' Guns on the other...

Well, if you can not do id Tech 4, it probably would not be too difficult I imagine to port it over to ioquake3. Why go backwards? I have a massive post about why/whynot id Tech 3. I should mention Transfusion uses Q3BSP already, apart from crash bugs from JPEG decoding with whatever JPEGs TFn uses...

with console nexuiz around the corner, the need for splitscreen in DarkPlaces would be inevitable IMO. I dream for a 4 way split, with complete transparency between the 4 local clients, gamepads assigned to each client with same or unique bindings, etc. DP already has more advanced joystick support ...

January 96 would make the screenshots dated around mid November 1995. The spectre looks pixel arted, prior to clay model or so, might even be a remnant from 1994 before they started to clay it up. The screens aren't fake though. The renders look very real, and very Build. That's the working procedur...

by porting the multiplayer portion of Transfusion to Nexuiz That's just completely pointless. It's not like the current TFn code is a lost cause with no way of optimizing it  way to get no lag Have you played Nexuiz online? It's not lag-proof. What does help though is that cl_movement is defa...

hi, briefly defecating alphanumerals with punctuations: i did have a thought last month for a 'blood-style arsenal and player physics' mod for OA with completely original, not blood-derived, open sourced assets just for an excuse of 'testing the waters' (and sawed off shotguns always have fun feedba...

I understand but i've only contrib'd 5 words, not really part of this crossfire of provocation, and on a Blood forum I expect high maturity to see my 'idiot posts' to be taken as satire (since Blood is usually 18+ such behavior is expected yes?). This apparently is not the case. but excuse me while ...

Highly complex tasks such as 3d sculpting benefit from 64-bit CPU If the game is compiled for 64-bit CPUS and isn't a 32-bit binary there is indeed a speed boost. Otherwise for 32-bit stuff the speed increase is nearly unnoticable you'll lose ntvdm, but that's a piece of crap anyway you'll also not ...
